Karl Dahm Grout Colourant Black, 237 ml, Art. No. 12428

For a bold and stylish grout finish in elegant black

Transform your grout lines with the premium Karl Dahm Grout Colourant Black. Whether paired with white tiles for striking contrast or black tiles for a sleek, contemporary look, black grout adds a touch of sophistication to any room.

Our Grout Colourant (Art. No. 12428) is suitable for both cement-based and epoxy grout materials. Specifically formulated for use in wet and dry areas, it’s perfect for bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces.

Benefits at a glance

  • Easy to apply: No need to regrout – simply apply the colourant with a dispenser bottle (Art. No. 12399) or a bristle brush (Art. No. 12580/12581).
  • Effective protection: Water-resistant sealing protects grout from dirt, oil, and water.
  • Long-lasting colour: Rich, black colour lasts up to five years.
  • High coverage: One bottle covers approximately 15 to 17 m², depending on grout width and surface condition.
  • Fast drying: Surfaces are walkable after two hours and fully cured after 24 hours.

How to colour grout – It's easy!

Preparation:

  1. Thoroughly clean the grout with a grout brush (Art. No. 11922) to remove grease and dirt.
  2. Allow the grout to dry completely.

Application:

  1. Shake the bottle well to mix the colourant.
  2. Using a small brush or dispenser bottle, apply a thin, even layer of colourant to the grout.
  3. Let the colourant dry for approximately 20 minutes.

Aftercare:

  • Wipe excess colourant off the tiles within five minutes using a damp sponge (Art. No. 10226).
  • Keep the area dry for 24 hours. Treated grout can be walked on after two hours.

For best results:

  • If additional coats are needed, wait 30 minutes between applications.
  • We recommend using the Grout Colourant Bottle with Brush Head (Art. No. 12399) for a smoother, more even finish.

Premium, water-resistant formula

The Karl Dahm Grout Colourant Black is based on innovative, water-based epoxy technology. This not only enhances the appearance of grout but also seals it for long-lasting protection. Ideal for high-traffic areas and easy to maintain.

Storage and safety instructions

  • Storage: Keep the product at temperatures between 10°C and 27°C. Protect from frost.
  • Protective equipment: Wear gloves and safety goggles to avoid skin or eye irritation.
  • Remove residue: Any excess colourant should be wiped off tiles within five minutes to prevent staining.
