Heavily used tile surfaces absorb oil-based contaminants, grease films, old care product residues, or construction dirt over time. Conventional household cleaners are often insufficient for this, especially when coverings need to be prepared before impregnation, after renovation, or as part of professional final post-construction cleaning. HMK R157 Ceramic Tile Intensive Cleaner is a mild alkaline special cleaning concentrate for ceramic surfaces. The product reliably dissolves stubborn dirt layers and is suitable for use on glazed and unglazed tiles, porcelain stoneware, clinker, and comparable ceramic coverings.
HMK R157 is suitable for all applications where normal maintenance cleaning is no longer sufficient. This includes soiled floor tiles in bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways as well as outdoor tiles, patio slabs, or heavily frequented commercial areas in trade, gastronomy, public spaces, or industry. Due to its concentrated form, the cleaner can be dosed depending on the degree of dirt. This is particularly economical for professional users, as large areas can be cleaned efficiently. At the same time, the cleaner remains gentle on materials: polished ceramic surfaces are not attacked when used correctly.
For tilers, stonemasons, and cleaning companies, thorough cleaning is often the prerequisite for the next step. Before impregnation or protective treatment, residues of oils, fats, construction chemicals, and care products must be completely removed. This is the only way to ensure that the subsequent treatment takes effect evenly. HMK R157 Ceramic Tile Intensive Cleaner can be processed manually or mechanically, making it suitable for smaller renovation areas as well as larger commercial and project surfaces. Especially in the case of porcelain stoneware with a structured surface, intensive cleaning helps to dissolve dirt from recesses and pore areas.
Before application, the surface should be roughly cleared of loose dirt. HMK R157 is diluted with water depending on the dirt and applied evenly. The cleaning solution should take effect for a few minutes but must not dry out. The surface is then processed with a brush, scrubbing brush, pad, or a cleaning machine from the Karl Dahm range. The dissolved dirt residues are rinsed off with clear water. For larger areas, the use of a water vacuum cleaner is recommended; HMK Z702 Defoamer can be used as a foam brake.
A test area should always be prepared before large-scale application. This makes it possible to check how the covering, existing joints, and possible old coatings react to the cleaner. For heavily soiled surfaces, a longer contact time is useful as long as the cleaning solution remains wet. Several short cleaning cycles are often more effective than an excessively high concentration. After deep cleaning, rinse thoroughly with clear water so that no cleaner residues remain on the surface.
HMK R157 is suitable for ceramic surfaces, glazed and unglazed tiles, and porcelain stoneware. It can be used in private households as well as in the professional tiling, stonemasonry, and cleaning trades. For mechanical cleaning, the intensive cleaner can be combined with suitable single-disc machines, pads, brushes, and wet vacuums. When using a wet vacuum, HMK Z702 Defoamer is recommended. For absorbent or sensitive materials, natural stone, or unknown surfaces, material compatibility should be checked in advance.
This includes tiles, porcelain stoneware, clinker, and comparable ceramic coverings. For unknown materials, a test area should always be prepared first.
It is important to adhere to the recommended dilution and not let the cleaning solution dry. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with clear water.
Such residues can impair the appearance of the surface and disrupt the effect of subsequent protective treatments. For heavy layer build-ups, repeated application may be necessary.
It removes construction dirt, oil films, and light residues from the surface. In the case of heavy cement residue, check whether a special cement film remover is required.
It is suitable, for example, for patio slabs, outdoor tiles, or ceramic coverings in entrance areas. The surface should be thoroughly rinsed with water after cleaning.
On large areas, a cleaning machine with a suitable pad or brush plate can significantly increase area performance. When using a wet vacuum, HMK Z702 Defoamer is recommended.
Additional protective clothing is recommended for mechanical processing or if there is a risk of splashing. The instructions on the product label and in the safety data sheet must be observed.
Since it is mild alkaline, it does not replace a highly acidic special cleaner for massive mineral residues. For heavier cement films, a cleaner suitable for this purpose should be checked.
Light dirt is cleaned with higher dilution, while stubborn residues may require a higher concentration. A test area helps to determine the right mixture.
This completely removes dissolved dirt and cleaner residues from the surface. If residues remain, streaks or adhesion problems may occur during subsequent treatments.
The surface must be clean, residue-free, and dry before the protective treatment takes place. Only then can the impregnation be absorbed evenly.
Old care films, high-traffic paths, or adhering construction dirt also call for intensive cleaning. The covering should be thoroughly cleaned, especially before modification, renovation, or impregnation.
