Diamond cutting discs for wet cutting are an essential tool for professional tilers who require precise, clean and material-efficient cuts on hard or sensitive construction materials. At the Karl Dahm online shop, you’ll find a wide range of high-quality wet cutting discs tailored specifically to the needs of the tiling trade. Whether you’re working with porcelain stoneware, natural stone, hard stone or granite – our discs deliver accurate results with maximum efficiency.
During wet cutting, the disc is continuously cooled with water while cutting. This reduces friction, lowers the temperature and prevents chipping or cracking of the material. Additionally, dust development is minimised – an important advantage when working indoors.
Your benefits at a glance:
Increased service life thanks to continuous cooling
Chip-free edges – ideal for delicate tiles
Less dust, improved safety on site
Faster cutting due to reduced resistance

Wet-cutting diamond discs are especially suitable for:
Porcelain tiles and floor slabs
Natural stones such as marble, slate or travertine
Hard stone and granite
Concrete and fireclay
Patio slabs and large-format tiles
Even the best cutting disc will wear over time or lose performance due to fine dust. With the Karl Dahm Diamond Sharpening Stone (Art. No. 20050), you can regenerate your wet cutting discs quickly and effectively. Simply run the disc dry through the sharpening stone – the diamonds are re-exposed, restoring cutting performance.
Your advantages:
Quick reactivation of dull discs
Suitable for both wet and dry cutting discs
Saves costs by extending disc lifespan

During wet cutting with diamond blades, water cools and rinses the cutting zone. This reduces heat stress, prevents cracks, edge chipping and breakout, and ensures a clean cut finish on porcelain stoneware, natural stone, granite, marble and ceramic tiles. In addition, the water binds dust and increases the service life of the blade – a clear advantage compared to dry cutting on delicate materials.
Diamond wet cutting discs are designed specifically for water cooling. Without water, friction increases, the bond glazes, the diamonds become clogged, and overheating or deformation may occur – in extreme cases even blade failure. For applications without water, always choose a dry cutting blade.
If cutting becomes slower, requires more pressure, shows unusual sparks or produces uneven or chipped edges, the blade is likely dull or glazed. Vibration, discoloration from heat and increased noise are further indicators that resharpening is required.
Make 2–3 light cuts into the Diamond Sharpening Stone (Art. No. 20050). This opens the bond matrix, exposes new diamond edges and increases the cutting speed again. Regular sharpening prevents unnecessary wear, improves cooling efficiency, and increases overall service life.
The DNS 14 Jolly Ultra is engineered specifically for 45° mitre (Jolly) cuts in porcelain stoneware, marble and natural stone. Its blade geometry ensures superb edge quality, reduced chipping and stable blade guidance during beveling – ideal for professional finishing.
The DNS 15 Fine Cut features a thin core blade structure and a finely tuned diamond grit blend. This achieves minimal cutting width, maximum edge precision and reduced chipping on thin porcelain tiles, glazed ceramics, natural stone and marble – perfect for visible edges and fine fitting work.
Choose the blade suitable for the material (e.g. DNS 13 Terr Ultra for hard stone), ensure correct RPM, and provide continuous water flow. Avoid side pressure, work with steady feed movement, and regularly use the Diamond Sharpening Stone (Art. No. 20050). Check flange condition, running direction and blade alignment to maximize performance and lifespan.
Granite, basalt and similar hard stones require a blade with high-strength bonding and robust diamond segments. The DNS 13 Terr Ultra is optimized for hard stone, providing fast cutting, stable tracking and long service life when used with continuous water cooling – particularly suitable for bridge saws and professional tile saws.
The frequency depends on material hardness, usage intensity and the bond characteristics of the blade. In practice, the Sharpening Stone (Art. No. 20050) can be used hundreds of times. Sharpen the blade when performance drops, not when severely worn – this maintains open segments, saves time, and extends blade lifespan.
