In the world of tiling, the right mix is crucial. Whether it’s tile adhesive, filler compound, or screed – only a homogeneous, lump-free blend ensures optimal processing of materials. This is where mixing technology from Karl Dahm comes into play: it offers powerful, practical solutions tailored to the needs of skilled trades.
Mixing tough or sensitive materials such as flexible adhesive, levelling compounds or sealing slurry requires high-performance mixers with precise control. This is the only way to achieve a work-ready consistency – without air pockets, lumps or material waste. Modern mixing systems save time and effort while increasing application quality.

For decades, Karl Dahm has been a trusted name in the tiling industry. All machines and tools are developed with practical insight, tested extensively, and meet the high standards of modern construction sites. Backed by expert customer service from skilled professionals.
For light materials such as paint, varnish, or plaster, basket or disc stirrers (e.g. item no. 10 836, 10 837) are ideal. They ensure even mixing without introducing air.
For heavy materials like mortar, screed, or concrete, a spiral stirrer (e.g. 10 839, 12 837) is recommended. Its shape pulls the material from the bottom to the top, preventing lumps and ensuring a homogeneous mix.
A mixer with variable speed control allows you to adapt the mixing speed to the specific material. Sensitive or liquid materials can be mixed slowly and without splashing, while viscous materials require higher speeds. This helps to avoid splattering and material damage, ensuring better mixing results.
A mixer stand is especially useful for frequent or large-scale mixing tasks. It keeps the mixer stable in position, ensuring consistent results while reducing physical strain. This makes work more ergonomic and safe — particularly when handling heavy or large batches.
Mixing dry materials often creates unwanted fine dust. A dust extraction system such as item no. 12 001 can effectively minimize this problem. It attaches easily to almost any bucket and, when connected to a vacuum cleaner, allows for clean, health-friendly mixing — ideal for indoor use.
Many mixers and stirrers use standardized connection systems such as M14 threads or Hexafix quick-change adapters. This allows for flexible combinations of stirrers, adapters, and machines, making it easy to expand or upgrade your existing equipment as needed.
Selecting the right mixer depends on several factors: the amount of material, the type of substance (light, heavy, viscous), and the duration or frequency of use. For professional applications, a powerful mixer with variable speed control is recommended. Our customer service team is happy to help you choose the ideal model for your needs.
A spiral stirrer works from bottom to top, providing thorough mixing of heavy materials such as mortar or screed. A disc stirrer, on the other hand, creates a horizontal flow, making it ideal for liquid or light materials with low viscosity. Each type ensures efficient, air-free mixing for the intended application.
Clean the stirrer right after use while the material is still wet. Use water and a sturdy brush to remove residues easily. For dried material, special cleaning brushes (e.g. item no. 12 323) are available. Regular cleaning helps maintain long-lasting performance and reliability of your tools.
When using a Hexafix adapter, make sure the connection is firm and properly aligned without tension. This guarantees safe power transmission between mixer and stirrer. The quick-change system allows for tool-free swapping of stirrers, saving valuable time — especially when switching between different materials.
