The Distar CordSET (Art. 40997) is a ready-made set for clean radius and curved cuts in porcelain stoneware and ceramic tiles. Radii and 90° corners can be cut noticeably faster and more easily – even for work that would otherwise require a lot of experience and a steady hand.
Cutting is done with a thin 0.5 mm diamond wire that is clamped into the quick-clamp grips. A hardened steel template guides the cutting direction for radii of 3, 6 and 12 mm and is fixed with the supplied clips and wedges. The workpiece is held all around to avoid chipping at corners and radii. Work is done wet; the included highly absorbent sponge provides the water cooling.
The CordSET speeds up making frequently needed cut-outs in porcelain stoneware – for example openings for actuator plates and tileable flush plates, ventilation openings and inspection flaps.
The diamond wire is produced with a multi-layer diamond coating. According to the manufacturer it achieves up to 6 times longer service life and up to 50 % higher cutting speed than standard wires; the service life of a 30 cm wire is around 12 to 18 cm of cutting length, depending on tile thickness and cooling.
As consumables/spare parts, the diamond saw wire (Art. 40994) and the quick-clamp grips (Art. 13204) are available separately at Karl Dahm.
It lets you cleanly cut radii, 90° corners and cut-outs, such as openings for tileable flush plates, ventilation and inspection flaps.
This makes the set ready to use for wet cutting right away.
This lets you reorder used wire or replace the grips.
Water cooling reduces heat and dust and protects the diamond wire.
