The OTTOSEAL® S 100 sanitary silicone in the colour variant Sanitary Grey Matt (C8681) (Item No. 13104) is a one-component sealant based on acetate, specifically developed for professional sealing in wet and sanitary areas. Thanks to its excellent processability and consistent elastic properties, this premium silicone offers a long-lasting solution for demanding applications in bathrooms, showers, and other moisture-exposed areas. The Sanitary Grey Matt colour variant provides a modern, discreet, and elegant appearance that blends harmoniously with various room concepts and can be perfectly combined with many tile designs.
The silicone offers maximum shape stability and standing strength, ensuring clean application even on vertical joints without flowing. It is excellently smoothable and mouldable, making it quick and precise to process, ideal for efficient application. Additionally, it is fungicidal and bacteriostatic, effectively preventing the growth of mould and bacteria, improving hygiene and extending maintenance intervals. It also boasts high resistance to environmental influences, making it suitable for both interior and exterior use, as it is resistant to UV light, weathering, and ageing. With its matte finish, the silicone ensures a discreet, harmonious joint appearance that seamlessly integrates into modern tile installations. Moreover, it provides excellent adhesion to ceramic and similar surfaces, offering a reliable solution for various applications. It also meets high-quality standards, complying with the requirements of EN 15651 (all parts) and Class E for fire behaviour. The silicone carries the EMICODE® EC1 Plus certification for low emissions.
This silicone is particularly well-suited for bathrooms and showers, especially for sealing expansion and joint areas in moisture-prone areas such as showers, bathtubs, and WC rooms. It is also perfect for use in kitchens and around washbasins, providing reliable sealing around sinks, countertops, and washbasins. Additionally, it is ideal for sealing glass and tile joints, offering a dependable solution for joints between glass, tiles, ceramics, and acrylic baths. It also reliably seals window connections and glass blocks, offering durable and seamless solutions for sealing joints in glass blocks, window frames, or profile glass. With its matte finish, the silicone offers long-lasting and subtle sealing solutions that are perfect for modern construction concepts and contemporary design projects.
Before application, ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, and sound. If necessary, use OTTO Cleaner T to thoroughly clean the surface. To maintain the matte appearance of the silicone, it should only be smoothed once using a smoothing tool. Avoid using any smoothing agents that may cause a glossy finish. Pay attention to material compatibility, especially with bitumen-containing or plasticiser-releasing materials, and ensure that materials are tested for compatibility beforehand. When removing old sealants, they should be completely removed before starting the re-jointing process. For long-term mould prevention, it is recommended to treat the joint with an anti-mould spray if necessary.
